Illustrations for Roald Dahl’s short story ‘The Hitchiker’ in the colour palette of Picasso’s blue period.  In the story, a successful writer is pushed to try out the speed limits of his new BMW by an allusive hitch-hiker . His luke-warm adventurous streak is quickly put in check when they are stopped by a policeman. The hitch-hiker/pickpocket calmly swindles the policman and they get away, untroubled the narrator in open-mouthed awe of the rogue hitch-hiker.
